|First Game Appearance||The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword|
Mallara is the single parent and mother of Pipit who lives in Skyloft. She is a kind person but exceedingly lazy, as is evident in how dirty the inside of her house becomes due to lack of cleaning. She has a somewhat rocky relationship with her more energetic and hardworking son Pipit and develops a liking of Link which is shown in her approaching him when he tries to leave the house.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
In Skyward Sword, Mallara can be found inside her house in Skyloft with the dilemma of having to clean it. Once Link has acquired the Gust Bellows during his adventure, a mini-game is then unlocked to clean the house for her using the item to blow the dust away in the same practice as sand down on The Surface. If Link successfully blows away all the cobwebs and dust around the house, she will then reward him with 20 Rupees, as well as 5 Gratitude Crystals the first time he does so, and asks him not to tell her son Pipit that she paid someone else to do it for her. This mini-game can be played once a day, making it a source of infinite Rupees via the sleep function.
The reason for being asked not to tell her son becomes apparent as Link overhears a conversation between them one evening. Pipit argues with his mum about throwing their money away when she could do the cleaning herself. If asked by Link, Pipit will then admit that the reason he does the night shift at the Knight Academy is for reasons of money rather than honour. Despite this confrontation, Mallara will continue to pay Link for his services each time he visits.
- If Link uses the Gust Bellows on Mallara it will cause her to sigh.
