Early in the game Link receives the Wind Waker. A magical baton that allows Link to conduct the Gods. Throughout the game you will learn new songs, each has a different effect. You play the Wind Waker by using the C-Stick.

Ballad of Gales
How to play it: Down-Right-Left-Up
Use: Allows Link to warp to eight different places within the Great Sea. Needed to access Mother and Child Isles.
Where: Go into the large tornado and shoot Cyclos, the wind god riding at the top, with arrows three times. (B-2, D-3, C-6)

How to play it: Left-Middle-Right-Middle
Use: Gives Link the ability to command statues in the Tower of the Gods.
Where: You will learn this song in the Tower of the Gods. (E-4)

How to play it: Down-Down-Middle-Right-Left-Middle
Use: Opens some doors and seals inside the Earth Temple.
Where: Inside the cave that leads to the Earth Temple 0n Headstone Island (G-7).

How to play it: Right-Left-Down
Use: Turns day into night and Vise-Versa.
Where: Go to the cliff on Windfall Island. You will see a guy dancing in a white disco suit, he will teach you how to play the song. (D-2)

How to play it: Down-Down-Middle-Right-Left-Middle
Use: Opens some doors and seals inside the Wind Temple.
Where: Inside the cave that leads to the Wind Temple on Gale Island (D-1).

How to play it: Up-Left-Right
Use: Gives Link the ability to change the direction of the wind.
Where: Once you’ve gotten Din’s Pearl go over to the small shrine next to Dragon Roost Island. There Zephos, the wind god, will teach you how to play it. (F-2)
