Flick the Wii Remote forward to crack the Whip. Hit items with the tip of the Whip to latch on to them, then pull back on the Wii Remote to pull the item back to you.
Another first in the history of console Zelda, the Whip works surprisingly like the Snake Whip from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Found in the Ancient Cistern, this item allows you to latch on to distant objects (hearts, rupees, etc.) and pull them to you. The whip may also be used to pull switches too high up for Link to reach, steal treasures from certain enemies, and used to swing from one place to another.
