D-Pad: Moves Link left and right, up and down as this is a top-view game. Also moves the inventory cursor.

A Button: Swings your sword when when you push this button. Also used to confirm a selection.

B Button: Pushing this button will make you use whichever item is currently equipped. You can equip an item to the B button by selecting it in the inventory.

Select: Selects options and also pauses the game.

Start: Also able to pause the game as well as bringing up the subscreen.
