The Legend of Zelda (Untitled Wii Project) is an upcoming installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It is in development for the Nintendo Wii. The game was announced by Shigeru Miyamoto at E3 2008, and later confirmed to be "very deep in development" at E3 2009.
During E3 2009, the first piece of concept artwork was released for the game (which can be seen above). Shigeru Miyamoto had this to say about the game, "Well, the story setting for this Zelda is, of course, in a completely different era and Link is older than he was previously. More approaching adulthood. There is one hint. Maybe from the art work you can see that he's not holding a sword."
The game has been confirmed to use the new WiiMotionPlus device, which will allow complete control over Link's weapons. The game is scheduled to release in Q4 2010.
July 1, 2009 - In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, the creator of the Zelda series, Shigeru Miyamoto, mentioned that the new Zelda Wii "wouldn't be radically different" from the other games in the series. This just about eliminates any chance of Zelda turning into a futuristic FPS and increases the chance of familiar characters and locations making a return.
