Plot
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker takes place apporximately several hundered years after the events of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
After the Legendary hero Link has battled and slayed the dark lord, Ganondorf and with the help of the 6 ancient sages sealed him in the Sacred Realm for what was supposed to be eternity. Link's adventure of which he traveled back and forth through time (7 years) was told from generation to generation across Hyrule, but what the people did not know that Ganondorf was far from finished, and it would be some time that Ganondorf would break free from the Sages' seal and he eventually did, with that he once again began to spread chaos across Hyrule. The pople of Hyrule were hoping that Link would once again slay Ganondorf and save their kingdom, unfortunately this was not to be. Because of this, the people were praying to the gods in hopes to stop the chaos, but the evil just grew until suddenly, Hyrule vanished, no witnesses. Now, in a vast land known as the Great Sea, there is an island that has a tradition that advises young boys to wear a green tunic (just like Link) as they come of age, and to also teach them in the ways of the sword and other weapons.
That is where Link comes in. On his birthday, his younger sister, Aryll, gets kidnapped. Link then sets out on a journey to save her, but gets involved in a whole lot more. He makes enemies with Ganondorf, who is attempting to conquer the Great Sea and take all three pieces of the Triforce for himself. With the help of his trusty talking boat, The King of Red Lions, and his mysterious Pirate buddy, Tetra, Link must restore the light to the Master Sword and bring peace back to the Great Sea.
