Last Game Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Pipit is a character thus far featured solely in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the latest addition to the Zelda Series. Pipit is living in Skyloft with his mother and is currently a senior in the Knight Academy. He's quite a proud student, tending to boast to Link about his achievements. Having said this, his life isn't as perfect as he likes to suggest, tending to fall out with his mother Mallara over her squandering of Rupees unnecessarily.

[edit] The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Pipit is a member of the Senior Class at the Knight Academy, a school dedicated to the teaching of students in how to become protectors of Skyloft. Pipit assists in your journey by providing you with an early role model to base yourself after, as well as help you with various tasks whilst still in Skyloft.

Pipit will assist you in the search for your Crimson Loftwing early in the game, as well as encourage you in the search for Zelda after she mysteriously disappears.

He also becomes involved in the side quest involving Cawlin and his secret love for Karane, which Pipit mirrors. If Link chooses to deliver the letter to Karane for Cawlin, Pipit will interrupt and end the love triangle by successfully winning her affections. Following this, he will give Link five Gratitude Crystals.

His rocky relationship with his mother stems from a need of money, to which end Pipit works the night shift at the academy to keep them afloat. His mother doesn't share this view, however, and is happy to pay Link 20 Rupees to clean her house out for her with the Gust Bellows. This task can be performed every time you sleep until night.

You can also witness the tension within the family by returning after the first time you help Pipit's mother. Link will overhear him shouting at his mother inside the house for her carelessness with their money, after which he'll admit he's doing the nighttime job for money and not honour if prompted by the admittance of Link's overhearing of the conversation.

[edit] Appearance

Pipit is the first character seen wearing the attire almost identical to Link's archetypal Hero's Clothing, the green tunic that he wears in every game. It is revealed in Skyword Sword that this uniform is simply the uniform of the Senior Class or Knight's of Skyloft. Pipit wears a yellow tunic, chainmail, baggy tights and boots. It is revealed by Gaepora, the Knight Academy headmaster, that this rendition is the older version of the suit. When Link receives his much admired green one, it is the newer edition that Link gets first grabs on.

[edit] Trivia

  • Pipit has a crush on Karane, a female in the Knight Academy. When it is known that Karane likes Cawlin, Pipit goes public with his love.
  • Pipit will forbid you to ride your Loftwing while about at night, as well as scold you for being up so late.
