Link's Uncle

Link's Uncle is Link's guardian, and he is also called to the castle on the same eventful night that Link's adventure begins. Link's Uncle leaves first for Hyrule Castle, but is struck down along the way. Link catches up with him, and his uncle passes on his sword and shield to him, hoping his nephew can complete the quest that he could not.
