The Great Deku Tree in Ocarina of Time

The Great Deku Tree is a wise and mystical old tree who, in Ocarina of Time, watches over the Kokiris in the Kokiri Forest, and also is the holder of Farore's spirit stone, the Kokiri Emerald. When he was cursed by Ganondorf, he slowly withered away, but was reborn as a sapling, with all of his previous knowledge.

In The Wind Waker, he lived in the Forest Haven with the Koroks, a race believed to have evolved from the Kokiris. In this game, he possesses Farore's Pearl, which is one of the three pearls necessary to raise the Temple of the Gods from the depths of the Great Sea, and he will gladly give it to you once you have saved his dear forest child, Makar, from the clutches of the boss of the Forbidden Woods, Kalle Demos. To aid you, he also passes on the Deku Leaf, which allows Link to glide around like a Korok, providing you have enough magic.
