The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
While trying to find his missing Crimson Loftwing, Link finds himself needing a sword to cut through the trees blocking the entrance to Waterfall Cave where it is believed to be trapped. He ends up at the Sparring Hall, where Eagus teaches him how to use a sword in various ways against wooden logs, including the special moves known as the Spin Attack and the Fatal Blow. Eagus, though not normally handed to unqualified knight scholars outside the Sparring Hall, will allow Link to take the Practice Sword to retrieve his Loftwing, but only because it's a special occassion.
Eagus also features in part of a side quest which is initiated by the breaking of the chandelier at the Lumpy Pumpkin. As part of Link's punishment, the owner called Pumm gives him some Pumpkin Soup to deliver to Eagus while it's still warm. If done successfully, Link will have completed the first part of the side quest.
- Eagus could be derived from the bird Eagle.
