Cucco

Cuccos are small birds very closely resembling chickens, and can be found in many games throughout the series. They are generally docile, but will sometimes attack viciously when injured. A great example of this is in Ocarina of Time, where if you slash or otherwise damage a cucco enough times, it will call an entire flock to come attack you, and they will not stop until you leave the area. Other times, such as in Twilight Princess, slashing a cucco ten times results in gaining temporary control over the chicken, including walking, swimming, and jumping. Unfortunately, this only lasts for a few seconds, and has no practical use in the game. Another useful thing about cuccos though, is that when they are picked up, they often allow you to glide over rivers or cliffs.
