The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
In Skyward Sword, Cawlin serves as an antagonist of some sort, due to him being one of Groose's friends. Unlike Strich who appears less independent, Cawlin seems to be following Groose purely out of self interest.
When Link wins the Wing Ceremony, despite Cawlin and Strich's attempts of knocking him off his Loftwing, and Zelda goes missing, Cawlin stands in the hallway of the Knight Academy to voice his opinion that Link's a horrible senior-class addition.
When triggering the side quest to deliver Cawlin's love note to Karane, a senior class girl whom Cawlin has a crush on, Karane initially decides to take the offer up if Link delivers the letter to her rather than Phoeni, who is a ghost that haunts the bathroom. When you inform Pipit, a fellow senior class knight, Pipit intervenes and takes Karane for himself while rewarding Link with five Gratitude Crystals for his trouble.
Due to his not being a senior yet, Cawlin is among the few knights who is not present wearing the official Knight Attire. Instead he wears a cardigan-like cloth around his neck (as does Groose) and the occasional baggy tights and boots. Cawlin is very short, especially when compared to his rather tall friend Strich.
