Bombs are extremely useful items that will explode shortly after pulling them from your Bomb Bag. They are usually used to blast away rocks, but they can also be used to open secret entrances, defeat enemies, or hit switches with a delay.

In The Wind Waker, bombs can be fired from a cannon if they are used while riding the King of Red Lions.

In Twilight Princess, there are actually three types of bombs, which are all sold by Barnes in Kakariko Village. You can also attach them to your arrows to make ranged explosives. The three types are regular bombs, water bombs, and Bomblings. Water bombs are dead Bombfish, which, like the name might imply, can be used underwater. The third type of bomb are explosive creatures called Bomblings, which are commonly found inside the Forest Temple in the Faron Woods. They are similar to the Bombchus featured in Ocarina of Time, in that they move forward for a few seconds before they explode. In the wild, Bomblings will come out of small holes in the ground and attack you, until you hit them. They can then be picked up and used just like regular bombs.
